"Only where love and need are one,
And the work is play for mortal stakes,
Is the deed ever really done
For Heaven and the future's sakes."
"Two Tramps In Mudtime"
Robert Frost

A graduate of
Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, class of 1962, with a degree
in English Literature, I have been a professional artist and writer since
the late seventies. Attracted, as you can tell, to the Arthurian
legends and to Merlin in particular, I have been primarily a painter--
abstract and abstract figurative, exploring the use of texture and color
to suggest mythic and meditative themes. Since 1991, I have moved
increasingly into computer graphics, especially taking fractal designs and
making them into human art.My work has decreased in size from 32 x 40" formats down to computer screens and postcards. Why? First, as a statement about our need to conserve resources; second, as a way of making art more affordable to all.
Merlin's Studio was one of September/October's [1997] featured art sites
